In today’s fast-paced digital world, having an online presence is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. Recognizing this, the Canada Digital Adoption Program has partnered with Digital Main Street to help small businesses across the country embrace e-commerce. Through the Grow Your Business Online program, small business owners across Ontario can now access essential funding and support to enhance their digital capabilities.

What Is the Grow Your Business Online Program?

As part of its commitment to fostering digital growth, Digital Main Street has expanded its ShopHERE powered by Google program to include the Grow Your Business Online grant. This initiative offers eligible small businesses a micro-grant of up to $2,400 to cover costs associated with adopting digital technologies, particularly e-commerce. Whether it's building a new website, enhancing an existing one, or integrating online payment systems, this grant is designed to make the digital transition smoother and more affordable.

Who Is Eligible for the Grant?

To qualify for the Grow Your Business Online grant, your business must meet the following criteria:

  • For-Profit Business: Includes for-profit social enterprises and co-operatives.
  • Registered or Incorporated: Your business must be legally registered or incorporated.
  • Consumer-Facing: Your business should primarily serve end-use consumers through in-person services or direct online sales.
  • Employee Requirement: You must have at least one employee (not the owner or a contractor) on payroll for at least three months prior to the application, or you must have generated at least $30,000 in annual revenue in the most recent tax year.
  • Commitment to Digital Strategy: You must commit to maintaining your digital adoption strategy for at least six months post-program participation.
  • Willingness to Share Data: Participation in follow-up surveys, data sharing with the Government of Canada, and public acknowledgment as a grant recipient are required.

Why Should You Apply?

This micro-grant is more than just financial assistance—it’s an opportunity to future-proof your business. By embracing e-commerce, you can reach new customers, streamline operations, and compete more effectively in the digital marketplace. Additionally, the program connects you with a network of e-commerce advisors who provide tailored support and guidance, ensuring you make the most of your digital transformation.
